Children don’t always have the words to explain what they’re feeling. Big emotions, worries, life changes, or challenging behaviours are often communicated through play rather than conversation. That’s why I use play therapy, sand tray therapy, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to help children express themselves in ways that feel natural and comfortable.
Through play and sand tray, children can work through difficult experiences, build emotional awareness, and develop confidence without feeling pressured to “find the right words.” CBT helps children learn practical skills to understand their thoughts and feelings, manage anxiety, cope with frustration, solve problems, and build resilience.
Every child is different, so therapy is tailored to their unique needs, strengths, and personality. My goal is to help children feel safe, understood, and supported while giving them tools they can use at home, at school, and in everyday life. As children develop these skills, parents often notice improvements in emotional regulation, confidence, communication, and family relationships.
At Hey Little Human, we provide compassionate, supportive care for kids, youth, and their families. The space is warm, bright, and thoughtfully curated to provide opportunities for children to express themselves, learn about themselves, and grow.
